SSD Gold Cup Series Starts This Weekend

The opening round of the 2018 Speedway Sedan Digest Street Stock Gold Cup Series will be held this weekend over two big nights at the Carnarvon Speedway in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

Novus Glass in Carnarvon have once again come on board as the series major sponsor, with this years tournament marking the eighteenth anniversary of its inception.

A small but quality field are making their way back to the venue that held the WA Street Stock Title last month with the meeting doubling as the annual Stocksville event.

2016 series champion Jace Kempton heads the nomination list and won this corresponding event two years ago.

Kalgoorlies Jack Barnewall is making the long journey back to Carnarvon after leading the WA Street Stock Title A Main before retiring with mechanical issues.

Barnewall will be hoping for some better luck this weekend along with Gavin Minty who was also prominent in the state title and is in the field this weekend.

Newmans Craig Clayton should be in the mix along with locals Wade Mason, Barry Mason and Kane Munro who was the inaugural Gold Cup Series champion.

Racing from 6pm this Saturday & Sunday Night with good fields entered in the supporting divisions who will be contesting the annual Northwest Championships.

Round Two- Saturday 7th July 2018- 31st annual Far Western Championships, Shark Bay Speedway

Round Three- Saturday 28th July 2018- PTQCC Street Stock Open Championships, Kellerberrin Speedway

Round Four- Saturday 25th August 2018- Street Stock Classic, Pithara Speedway

Round Five- Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th September 2018- Brian Rose Memorial, Ellenbrook Speedway
