The McCosker Super Sedan Series stars and their cars will be in the NSW town of Lismore this Saturday which is supported by local business TMS Quality Sportswear.
The Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway plays host to round ten of the McCosker Series. The series continues to have strong car counts with twenty-two drivers from Victoria, NSW and Qld participating.
Following his podium at the last event in Gympie Sean Black (Sweet 26) is the new points leader and will headline the field a long with current National Champion Darren Kane (Dominator Aus 1) and former national champions Matty Pascoe (Sweet 47), Steve “the Joker” Jordan (Dominator 7) and Mick Nicola (KO Vic 3).
Also in the field are home club members Tania Smith (Rocket 3) and Hayden Brims (Rocket 111). Tania has had success at the showground track in the past, most notably winning the 2010 Grenville Anderson East Coast Grand National, and will be looking to put her local knowledge to good use.
Hayden is in his Rookie year in the class, although certainly no stranger to the Lismore venue having competed in Junior Sedans since 2016, and he currently sits in second place in the Development Series point score. As one Brims begins his Super Sedan career another Brims is bidding the sport farewell.
Ian Brims (Hayden’s Uncle) who lives in Murwillumbah and considers Lismore Speedway to be his home track shared the following on his social media page this past weekend.
“After much consideration, Brims Racing Team has decided to retire from Super Sedan racing due to driver and crew work commitments.Round 10 of the McCosker Super Sedan Series supported by TMS Quality Sportswear at Lismore Speedway on Saturday 20th February 2021 will be the final chapter for driver Ian Brims.
Ian will be finishing his racing career at the track where he started during the 1985/86 Season in Production Sedans, transitioning into Super Sedan’s during 2000/01 and considers Lismore as one of his favourites. We’ve had plenty of good times from the opportunity to race all over Australia and have met some great people along the way.
We take this time to thank everyone for their support during our speedway racing journey, it has been appreciated.Look forward to catching up for the last show.
