Press Release by Luke Nichols
National Super Sedan Champion Matty Pascoe has won the first ever feature race at the brand new seventy million dollar Eastern Creek Speedway.
Pascoe put on a show in the opening heat race of the night passing a number of cars on the top side of the track after starting from fifth.
New South Welshman Daryl Moon crossed the line in second with Tasmanian Callum Harper rounding out the podium in third.
Pascoe would go back to back, taking out heat two after starting from eighth.
Brad Pascoe stormed through the field in closing stages to finish second, with former National champion Mick Nicola crossing the line third.
Harper would secure a front row start when he greeted the chequers first in heat three. Victoria’s Ash Bergmeier crossed the line second, and New South Welshman Andrew White rounded out the podium in third.
Pascoe and Harper would set sail from the front of what was to be a twenty five lap feature.
Harper won the start and jumped to the lead ahead of Pascoe and Hayden Brims in third.
The first move of the race would come the younger Pascoe when Brad Pascoe moved to third after he passed Brims.
The battle for the lead heated up in traffic and Pascoe would hit the front on lap nine.
Harper would keep the pressure up on Pascoe despite circulating with broken left front suspension.
The race would end early due to time constraints with Pascoe greeting the chequered flag first, to enter the history books as the first Super Sedan feature winner at Eastern Creek.
Harper would cross the line second ahead of Brad Pascoe.
Brims held on for fourth ahead of Bergmeier who would round out the top five.
