Brad Pascoe has won the opening night of the Summer Slam, and Round Six of the McCosker Super Sedan Series at Autobarn Carina Speedway in Bundaberg.
Rockhampton’s Matty Williams kicked off the night in his brand new car with a win in the opening heat of the night.
Harry Doyle made it two for two for Rockhampton drivers when he was victorious in heat two.
National Champion Matty Pascoe was too good for the field in the third heat of the evening.
Hailing from Orange in New South Wales, Lachlan Onley marked his return to Super Sedans with a win in heat four.
Williams won his second heat of the night in heat five, dismantling the field, and crossing the line more than ten seconds clear of Ty Pascoe in second.
Doyle became the second driver of the night to take back to back heat wins when he won heat six.
Bundaberg’s own Casey Collins got a heat race win on his Super Sedan debut, when he won heat seven.
Doyle continued on his perfect night by taking out his third heat win in the penultimate heat race of the evening.
Andrew Roberts would narrowly win the final heat of the night, finishing just three tenths of a second clear of Brad Pascoe in second.
Doyle as the top qualifier opted to start the thirty lap main event from outside pole, with Onley starting the race from pole position.
Doyle would win the start and set off into the lead of the race, Onley would settle into second, with Victoria’s Mick Nicola just behind in third.
Pascoe having started from eighth began to make the moves on the top side of the track.
Pascoe would take sixth from Collins, after running side by side for a couple of laps. Next was Roberts to take fifth.
Nicola and Darren Kane were duking it out over third, Pascoe would take them both around the outside.
First Kane out of turn two, and then Nicola in turns three and four to move to third at the stripe on lap eleven.
Doyle at this stage had built a straight away lead over Onley and was into lap traffic.
Doyle would make contact with Brendon Kelly, which would bring out the caution light for the first time on lap twelve.
Doyle was deemed the cause of the stoppage and would be forced to relinquish the lead and go to the rear of the field for the restart.
At the restart Onley would take the lead, from Nicola who got back by Pascoe on the deleware double file restart.
Pascoe would mount the pressure on Nicola and would re-take second place just two laps after the restart, before the caution would again be out on lap seventeen.
Nicola would again take second place on the restart, however the caution light was straight back out for a spinning Roberts.
Pascoe would get the top side of the track for the restart and get back to second place.

Pascoe got a good exit out of turn two, and drove deep into turn three.
Pascoe would go right around the outside and take the lead heading into lap twenty.

Pascoe would set off into the lead for the final ten laps, and was a couple of car lengths clear of a frenetic battle for second place.
Onley was under immense pressure from Doyle and Matty Pascoe.
Pascoe was able to take third from Doyle on lap twenty two, and after running side by side with Onley for three laps the yellows would come out for a stricken Casey Collins with six laps remaining.
Pascoe again resumed the race in the lead, with Onley second, and Pascoe third.
Pascoe would take second from Onley into turn one, and began to chase down his son with five laps remaining.
Pascoe would hold out his father for the third win of his young career and his first of the season.
