 :: PRESS RELEASE ::
:: Another Night, Same Result In Tom Price

Saturday, September 26, 2009
Jason Crowe - SSA Media

The North West Super Sedan Stampede continued tonight, at the Tom Price Speedway, with the second night of the opening round of the WA Super Sedan Summer Series.

Gary Higgs who won the opening feature race last night, was able to win the Feature race again tonight, but on this occassion it was a hard fought victory.

Higgs had to come from behind, after his son, Dustin took the lead at the start of the Feature Race. Dustin Higgs held the lead until lap eleven, when Gary Higgs made an excellent passing move to take the lead. Dustin chased hard but was unable to regain the lead.

State Champion, Kodee Brown, who finished second last night in the main event in Newman, would finish third ahead of fellow Broome competitor Brent Halliday.

The field which started last night was diminished with Blake Jackson, damaging his car extensively at Newman in an early event, while Peter Lyall tonight blew an engine in his RX8. Blake Jackson and his crew have worked tirelessly over the last 24 hours, and are confident of being ready for the final night of the Super Sedan Stampede, to be held at Port Hedland.

Meanwhile, Kevin Bells northern swing took another turn for the worse, after crashing out of last nights Feature race, was unable to finish a lap of the Feature race tonight with engine dramas.
.
Gary Higgs now has a healthy lead in the Super Sedan Stampede, after winning all three heat races last night, along with the Feature Race, won two of the three heat races again this evening, before winning his second Feature race in 24 hours.

Tomorrow night, the final night of the opening round will be held in Port Hedland.
