Modified Productions

The second oldest of the Speedway Sedans Australia categories, Modified Production Sedans have had a few name changes in its history including Standard Saloons, before being changed to Modified Production Sedans in 1984.

The category is extremely popular in Queensland particularly.  Queenslad drivers have won 17 of 36 National Titles, while only one driver from South Australia has ever won the event, and amazingly, no West Australian have ever been victorious.  National Titles in this category normally attract upward of 80 competitors.    Modified Production Sedan competition takes place in every State of Australia.

A Modified Production is built from a hard top road car seating a minimum of four persons, as per the compliance plate, and catalogued for sale in Australia, ie available now, to the general public, through authorised Dealer sales and service networks throughout Australia.

Four wheel/all wheel drive and/or four wheel steer models not permitted.

As the name suggests, certain modifications to this class of category are available.

A large range of Makes of Vehicles compete in this category, although latest model Ford and Holdens are most popular, though Mazda RX7s are not uncommon, along with Ford Cortina's, Mitsubishi Sigma's and Toyota Aurions.
