Production Sedans

Formed in 1997, Production Sedans hosted their first Australian Title in 2001 at Mildura in Victoria.

Extremely popular in Western Australia, with in excess of 160 registered drivers, the popularity on the East Coast is not as great, with Speedway Sedans Australia recognising this, making changes to the category in 2011 to try an entice drivers from other categories to join.

The major change was to introduce Electronic Fuel Injection.

A Production Sedan is built from a hard-top road car seating a minimum of four persons, as per the compliance plate and catalogued for sale in Australia, ie available now, to the general public, through authorised Dealer Sales and service networks throughout Australia.

The base model is used for silhouette, measurements and specifications.  If unsure of base model options refer to Glasses Dealers Guide or a car park check if required.  Four wheel.all wheel drive and/or four wheel steer models are not permitted.

Passengers are optional in this category.  The age limit on Production Sedans is 5 years, ie, for 2011, a competitor can only build a 2006 model car.

Unlike Street Stock, Production Sedans, have many different makes and models competing at the highest level including LJ Torana's, VB-VK Commodores right through to the latest VE Commodores.   A full range of Ford Falcons compete from XD through to BA, while Mitsubishi Sigma's are very prominent particularly in Western Australia.
