The Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway located in Latrobe Tasmania will play host to the 2020/2021 SSA Street Stock Tasmanian State Title this Good Friday and Easter Saturday.
Nearly fifty entries have been received for the thirty fifth running of the event which will be held at Latrobe for the first time in four years.
With last season’s Tasmanian State Title not being staged, Nathan Russell finally gets the opportunity to defend the title against a plethora of potential winners.
Five Time Tasmanian Champion Troy Russell has enjoyed a strong second half of the season with wins in the Brett Waddington Memorial in Hobart and the Ironman event held at the last show at Latrobe putting him in the frame for a potential sixth crown.
Former Tasmanian Champions Luke Williams (2017), Corey Bauld (2015) and John Riley (2010) are in the field with Bauld having finished on the podium on five occasions previously.
The Ford Falcons of Dale Riley Jnr and Matt Atkinson should be prominent along with the Killa Earthworx backed Holden Commodore of Matt Hammond and Brad McKendrick who had a big win at Carrick recently.
Each competitor will contest three ten lap heats across the two nights with the top sixteen qualifying direct into the thirty lap A Main on Saturday Night.
The top three across the line in each of the two B Main’s will fill the final three rows with twenty two cars to start the final.
Racing will commence from 6pm both nights with SSA Junior Sedans apart of the support program.
